Graduated from Gazi University Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Sezai Leventoğlu received his specialization from the General Surgery Department of the same university. prof. Dr. Sezai Leventoğlu is a faculty member at Gazi University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of General Surgery. On top of his general surgery specialty, he added a very important specification such as colorectal surgery by working in an important center abroad. He reflected this knowledge and experience to his own university upon his return. prof. Dr. Sezai Leventoğlu is the consultant of units such as Stomatherapy Unit, Proctology Unit, Anorectal Neurophysiology Unit. He gained national and international prestige in the field of colorectal surgery and colon cancer, especially with the patient series and clinical research articles he created in these units, and he was invited to panels and conferences.

Prof. Leventoğlu teaches "Colorectal and pelvic floor surgery anatomy", "Benign diseases of the anorectal region", "Precancerous colonic lesions" and "Pelvic Floor Diseases" to Term IV English and Turkish medical students. He has been involved as an instructor in the colonoscopy-endoscopy certification for general surgeons who have been referred to the General Surgery clinic of Gazi University Faculty of Medicine since 2008 by the Turkish Surgical Society. He worked as an assistant editor in the Turkish Journal of Colon and Rectal Diseases, the official publication of the Turkish Colon and Rectal Surgery Association, and in the Gazi Medical Journal, the official publication of Gazi University Faculty of Medicine.

Dr. Sezai Leventoğlu worked at Columbia University-New York Presbyterian Hospital, Colon and Rectal Surgery Department in the United States in 2007. At this center, Dr. He participated in Laparoscopic colorectal surgery and pelvic floor surgery operations with RL Whelan. in 2009, he was sent as an observer to the Colon and Rectal Surgery Department of Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Digestive Disease Center, by the Turkish Colon and Rectal Surgery Association in the United States. At this center, Dr. He observed Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery and Pelvic Floor Surgery operations at the Colorectal Surgery Center led by Feza Remzi. During his stay, he participated in Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery cadaver and live animal courses and became certified by taking "Standard Laparoscopic Colon and Rectum Surgery, Transanal endoscopic microsurgery (Jul), Single port laparoscopic surgery (SILS)" trainings.

in 2010, he went to the “Transanal Endoscopic Operation (TEO)” course held in Barcelona and received the TEO instructor certificate. Following his return to the country, he has been working as an instructor in the organization of TEO courses for surgeons interested in this subject by Turkish Colon Rectal Surgery.

in 2011, he received training in robotic colorectal surgery practices in Strasbourg and became certified in robotic surgery.

Since 2008, he has been taking part in the endoscopy-colonoscopy training courses of surgeons assigned by the Turkish Surgical Association on quarterly periods at the Surgical Endoscopy-Proctology unit of Gazi University Faculty of Medicine as an instructor.

Since 2008, he has been working as an assistant editor in the Journal Colon and Rectal Diseases, which is the official publication of the Turkish Colon and Rectal Surgery Association.

His areas of particular interest are colon and rectal surgery, proctology, laparoscopic/robotic colorectal surgery, transanal endoscopic operations. Dr. Leventoğlu is currently working as a consultant (consultant) of the Endoscopy-Proctology unit and Stomatotherapy unit at the General Surgery clinic of the Faculty of Medicine of Gazi University.
